Our Staff
Doctors Dr. Dianna Beavers came to the clinic in 1996 looking for a job as a kennel technician. She then went on to become an undergraduate at Virginia Tech & Villa Julie for 3 years. Afterwards dedicating 4 years to Virginia Maryland College if Veterinary Medicine. She is the owner of the Abingdon Veterinary Clinic and resides with her husband, Brian, 2 great danes, and 2 children. Dr. Carvel Tiekert attended Cornell University in 1963. Acquired his Certification in Acupuncture in 1984 followed by a Certification in Veterinary Chiropractic care. He is also the founder and past president of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association. Currently he is a member of many national and international veterinary associations and is also the principle vet of the Harford Dental Center. Office Manager Pat: She does not necessarily work in the reception area or in the back with the technicians. She does it all. Starting out over 20 years ago before there was a full staff to help keep the clinic running, she was the glue that held it all together. As office manager she is our cheerleader as well as our "principal". Head Kennel Technician Belinda is our kennel technician in the mornings. You can catch her here Monday-Fridays. Belinda takes exceptional care of our boarders! The rest of our kennel staff is here on the weekends, weeknights and holidays. They are all trained to keep an eye out on all of our guests in the clinic and to notify a doctor or technician if there are any concerns. They are also trained to give medications as needed. Receptionists Toni has been with the clinic for many many years. She has quite a few dogs and cats of her own. If you have any questions about your pooch, Toni is the one to ask! Arlene has been with us for quite a few years now. She worked at the humane society of Harford county before joining our family here. She has many kitties at home and will smother yours in lots of ooohhhs and aahhs! Kristen started out as a kennel technician and because of her dedication to the well being of our patients, she has worked her way up to the front desk. Mark also began his employment here as a kennel tech! He proved to be super reliable and pays great attention to detail, so now he can be found at the front desk too! Veterinary Technicians Melissa has been at the clinic for several years now. She has 3 dogs, 2 cats, 10 turtles, 2 birds, 1 frog, and rescues as many wild critters as she can handle! She also is working with Luna's House, a local rescue. In her spare time, she has been working on getting her wildlife rescue license with Gerda! Shelly has worked her way up from kennel tech to reception to veterinary technician! She has 3 beagles, 5 cats and a ball python named Lucy. She has also been known to foster a kitten or 2...or 10. Jodi used to be a receptionist but worked her way to veterinary tech a couple years ago. She has 2 cats and a little jack russell that has many names! Misty Sue has 3 dogs, 3 cats and is fostering a bunny from Luna's House. She is in charge of education at the clinic and also for Luna's House. Misty has done volunteer work for an animal Sanctuary in Utah.
